Lianyungang box volume up 1.7pc in first eight months

EASTERN China's Port of Lianyungang handled 1.9 million TEU from January to August, an increase of 1.7 per cent year on year, Logistics Week reported.

The port's throughput during this period climbed 11.7 per cent to 76.1 million tonnes. Throughput of foreign trade cargo rose 8.2 per cent to 43.2 million tonnes.

In August, port of Lianyungang's container throughput increased 1.9 per cent year on year to 282,000 TEU. Throughput tonnage grew 18.2 per cent to 9.9 million tonnes. Foreign trade cargo throughput rose 19.2 per cent to 5.8 million tonnes.
