Odessa port prepares new investment agreement for construction of a deepwater container terminal

Odessa Commercial Sea Port (Ukraine) has developed and submitted to the Ministry of Transport and Communications a new version of an investment agreement for the construction of a deepwater container terminal capable of handling vessels with a draft of up to 15 meters, Timer reports.

According to Nikolai Pavlyuk, head of the port, according to the new version of the agreement, the port is to finance half of the terminal’s value- some $250 mln.

The other half is to be covered by investor. The interest to invest in the construction was expressed by joint Ukraine-Germany company GPK-Ukraine, which has recently rejected full funding of construction works.
