Colombo Dockyard, Sri Lanka, has received a US$61 million contract from an unnamed Singaporean owner to build two AHTS. There is an option for two more vessels of the same type.
The vessel design has been developed by Norway’s Moss Maritime and will feature a 130-tonne bollard pull. The vessels will undertake supply duties for offshore units, AHTS, barges and other vessels.
The vessels are slated for delivery in June 2011 and September 2011.
“This is the largest capacity vessel (bollard pull-wise), that Colombo Dockyard has contracted in its 35-year history,” the shipyard said in a statement.
