The aggregated throughput of NCC’s terminals in January, 2008 amounted to 129,411 TEU which is an increase of 16.5% compared to January, 2007.
FCT, Saint-Petersburg
The throughput of First Container Terminal (FCT) in January, 2008 increased by 19.5% compared to January, 2007 and reached 81,096 TEU. The reefers turnover remained at high level of 9 350 TEU which is an increase of 46.5% compared to January, 2007.
This year FCT managed to ensure timely vessel handling during the New Year holidays which was a result of the well-functioning system of storage quotas and the efforts of the terminal clients aimed to stimulate dispatch.
The volume of 40,775 TEU was handled in export and 40,321 TEU in import. In January FCT handled 66 vessels, the average per vessel 1,229 TEU.
The terminal pays special attention to timely dispatch of empty boxes for further positioning for export loading by means of shuttle block trains. In January, 2008 the volume of empty boxes positioned for loading by rail amounted to 2,137 TEU.
NUTEP, Novorossiysk
The throughput of NUTEP in January, 2008 increased by 14.36 % compared to January, 2007 and reached 11,282 TEU.
The volume of 5,677 TEU was handled in export, and 5,605 TEU in import. The percentage of full boxes is 61%The terminal handled 6 vessels in January, the average per vessel 1,880 TEU.
Ukrtranscontainer (UTC), Illychivsk
The throughput of UTC in the port of Illychivsk in January 2008 increased by 11% compared to the January, 2007 and reached 37,033 TEU.
The volume of 19,131 TEU was handled in export, and 17,902 TEU in import. The percentage of full boxes is 56%.
Rapid growth that started last year slowed down in January which was the result of the multiple customs inspection intensified by the SSU (Security Service of Ukraine). Besides, the growth of the terminal throughput was less then expected due to the fact that consignees were not ready to pick up their containers during the ten-day New Year holidays.
