On the 21st of August (Friday) at 10.00 a.m. a report was received that while performing quay reconstruction works a certain thing very similar to an explosive was found in Klaipeda Port territory (Lithuania) on the quay No.66, operated by UAB Klaipėda stevedoring company Bega
On the 21st of August in 2009 (Friday) at 10.00 a.m. the Harbour Dispatchers‘ Office of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority received a report that while performing quay reconstruction works on the quay No.66, operated by UAB Klaipėda stevedoring company „Bega“, UAB „Hidrostatyba“ workers found a thing very similar to an explosive.
As soon as this report has been received the Dispatchers‘ Office informed mine clearers of Lithuanian Grand Duke Butigeidis Dragoon Training Battalion of Volunteer Forces of National Defence of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Lithuania.
Reconstruction works have been stopped. No danger to people and premises in the vicinity.
Analogous reports were received on the 5-6th of August of this year.
