Iranian ports fail security standard

The U.S. Coast Guard said it has placed Iran on a security advisory list for not maintaining effective antiterrorism measures at its ports, as required by the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code.

Vessels will be targeted for increased boardings when arriving in U.S. ports if they have visited an Iranian port during their last five port calls.
