Tideworks Technology® Inc., a provider of full-service terminal management and planning solutions, announced the successful deployment and implementation of its suite of container terminal products at Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Gdynia, Poland. The implementation at BCT represents Tideworks’ first deployment at a dedicated container terminal in Europe.
“We have already seen the benefits from our implementation of Tideworks’ suite of container terminal products,” said Johannes de Jong, chief executive officer of BCT. “Through our execution of Tideworks’ terminal operating system, we have access to increased productivity while enhancing our customer service levels. Efficiency is critical in order for us to maintain our position as Poland’s leading international trade gateway - Tideworks’ technology gives us the tools to do so.”
The Port of Gdynia’s BCT has a current handling capacity of 750,000 TEU and is the leading container terminal in Poland and one of the largest in the Baltic region. Tideworks was selected by BCT to deploy its suite of container terminal products because of its proven, industry-leading solutions as well as its depth of operational experience. Specifically, BCT required software and a solution that supported feeder terminal operations, a unique booking system, and customs processes for cargo.
Tideworks’ implementation at BCT encompassed four applications: Mainsail Terminal Management System®, Mainsail Online, Spinnaker Planning Management System®, and Traffic Control™. By implementing this complete, integrated suite, BCT will benefit from increased productivity, enhanced container visibility, and improved inventory control and asset management, which lowers the overall operating cost. BCT will receive around-the-clock care and application support from Tideworks’ Service Center as well as software updates and upgrades as part of Tideworks’ standard software maintenance and support service.
“We are pleased about the smooth adaptation by BCT of Tideworks terminal operating system,” said Michael Schwank, president, Tideworks Technology. “The team did a great job of meeting the unique criteria of the terminal and region. We met an aggressive schedule and have provided BCT with a world-class operating system that will meet its needs now and well into the future.”
