A DELEGATION from the Antwerp Port Authority (APA) recent trip to visit China and representatives within the cities of Tianjin, Suzhou, Yangzhou, Shanghai, Ningbo and Beijing Logistics Fair has culminated agreements for in future return visits from each country.

Delegation chief Antwerp port chairman Alderman Marc Van Peel made history as the first foreign port authority chairman to present a lecture at Shanghai Maritime University. He spoke on the significance of Antwerp, and the opportunities that it offered for Belgian and Chinese entrepreneurs.

Following last year's visit to Ningbo and its treaty of friendship the delegates decided that the mayor of Ningbo would visit the port of Antwerp at the end of October this year. Business relations personnel from Shanghai will also travel to Antwerp this autumn to become better acquainted with the port.
