SCT welcomes new Asia-West Africa service (SWAX)

With the successful calling of vessel “NYK Commodore” on 20 June 2009, Shekou Container Terminals (SCT) welcomed a new service SWAX (Asia-West Africa service), a fortnightly service between Asia, South Africa and West Africa, jointly launched by Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) and Nile Dutch. Four 2,260 TEU vessels will be deployed on the seventy-day round voyage. NYK and Nile Dutch will provide two vessels each. SWAX calls to SCT on Saturday with the following port coverage: Shanghai > Shekou > Singapore > Durban > Lome > Tema > Lagos > Durban > Singapore > Shanghai.
