A Solid Step forward to an Intelligent Terminal

       On 1st June, 2009, Shekou Container Terminals (SCT) SPARCS system upgraded to the most advanced version of SPARCS 3.7. The implementation of this version laid a sound foundation to terminal intelligent features such as tractors scheduling, ship auto-loading, and smart yard plan, which will help safeguard the optimization of resource utilization, enhance operational efficiency thereby provide clients a stable, efficient and reliable service. The upgrading marked a solid step forward of SCT to the intelligent terminal.

       Since 1997, SCT has been in cooperation with Navis, the world leading supplier of terminal operating systems, and introduced its mature products EXPRESS and SPARCS. SPARCS, with its powerful functions on ship and yard planning and scheduling, is recognized as the industry standards. Benefited from the smooth and efficient operation of SPARCS, SCT’s performance has been improving these years.

        The upgrade of this system has become a major milestone in SCT development history following the EXPRESS system upgrade in 2005, new gate implementation in 2006 as well as new server system carried out in 2007.
