New Terminal In Rotterdam

On August, 31 Bertschi AG officially opened a new rail terminal in the Port of Rotterdam with intermodal connections to southern Germany and Italy reports the press-service of the port.

The new terminal has a surface of 3.5 hectares. Its handling capacity is 120 000 TEU. A gantry crane covers 3 rail tracks of 450 m. each and a storage area of 1250 TEU. The terminal offers trimodal services with a direct internal access to the neighbouring short-sea container port. It is said that in the next future the company intends to increase capacity of the terminal.

In the first phase the terminal investment amounts to 10 mn euros.
