The downturn in the Danish road transport sector shows signs of levelling off, according to Michael Svane, head of the transport unit of the Confederation of Danish Industry. Svane attributes the levelling off to rising activity in the house sale market that generates sales for DIY centres, which in turn generates jobs to the transport sector.
Hardy Petersen, MD of forwarding company Leman, can also see signs that the downturn in the transport sector is levelling off and may have bottomed out, but points out that April and May will be difficult months. Transport and logistics company DSV, that is highly exposed to the market for fast-moving consumer goods, is also cautiously positive about short-term future prospects, Logistics Finland informed.
