Worldwide Flight Services awarded for 100pc on-time service

WORLDWIDE Flight Services (WFS) has announced that it has achieved 100 per cent on-time performance for ramp cargo handling throughout 2008 and, as a result, the Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) team at Newark International Airport in New York has earned a special award from customers, Air Transport International (ATI).

WFS has worked with ATI in Newark since 2005 and handles twice daily DC-8 freighter flights for the airline every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as well as a daily cargo operation each Monday and Friday. ATI carries domestic air cargo for BAX Global in the United States and contracts WFS to provide loading and unloading of its DC-8F aircraft, a WFS statement said.

In a letter to WFS, ATI said: "It is with great pride and admiration that we acknowledge vendors that have sustained outstanding performance over the past year. Your EWR station has maintained a phenomenal 100 per cent on-time performance rating for the entire 2008 calendar year. During this time, Worldwide Flight Services in EWR handled aircraft operations with zero delays. We are very proud of your staff's hard work and dedication.

Said WFS managing director of cargo terminal service (New York region) Dennis Esnes: We are delighted that our Newark team have been given this important customer recognition for their professionalism and determination to maintain the highest possible service standards for ATI.
