Skyservice Airlines and SITA, the aviation IT specialists, today announced the completion of the worldwide deployment of a fully-integrated automated passenger management system. The Canadian charter airline has also implemented SITA’s Advance Passenger Information Quick Query (APIS AQQ) solution.
The AQQ service allows the Department of Homeland Security to take control of vetting passenger names against the government's watch list, prior to departure of aircraft, and then automatically deliver authorization to airlines to issue, or not issue, boarding passes as each passenger checks in.
The passenger management system implemented for Skyservice, based on SITA’s Horizon portfolio, comprises reservations, departure control services and a state-of-the art global managed infrastructure which includes WAN connectivity, LAN, and desktop equipment.
“The results have exceeded our expectations,” said Skyservice Airlines CIO, Hilton Reading, “The agility and efficiency of SITA’s single Horizon platform have reduced our training and overhead costs, and as expected, the fixed price is manageable and predictable.”
Christian Ilumin, Director, Airports and Processes, Skyservice Airlines said: "SITA has delivered what they promised and helped us achieve full compliance in every country in which we operate. The net result to our bottom line has been positive, and with a seamless transition our passengers have seen improved on-time departures and shorter check-in and boarding wait times.”
With more than one million passengers at over 70 locations worldwide, Skyservice Airlines carries over one million passengers annually and operates a fleet of 21 aircraft, including Airbus A-320s and Boeing B-757s to popular vacation destinations in the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico.
Sandra Girona, Regional Vice President of SITA said: "Skyservice operates in over 20 countries worldwide, and they are effectively staying ahead of the most current security requirements. As they grow and expand, our solution will grow with them, continuing to give them unparalleled flexibility and versatility."
