AIR China will operate on the Beijing-Chengdu-Karachi air route from March 30, reports Logistics Week.
The new route will make the Air China to offer services between Chengdu, capital of south western Sichuan province and Karachi, the port city of Pakistan.
A Boeing 757 with flight NO CA945/6 is to fly twice a week on Monday and Thursday. The flight will take off at 1630 hrs from Beijing, stopping at Chengdu at 1910 hrs and reaching Karachi at 2350 hrs. On the next day, it will come back from Karachi at 0050 hrs, departing again from Chengdu at 1030 hrs and arriving at Beijing at 1300 hrs.
It will take six hours to cover the 4,500 kilometres between Chengdu and Karachi with the air ticket estimated to cost at around CNY4,000 (US$585).
