ECS opens second GSA business in Germany

Mar 30, 2009 Logistics

European Cargo Services (ECS) has launched a second, wholly-owned general sales agency business in Germany to meet the requirements of its fast-growing airline customer base. The network GSA group has operated successfully as Globe Air Cargo in Germany since 2002, representing major airline clients including Brussels Airlines, Ukraine International, Delta Airlines, EL AL and Malev.
The new company is trading as Aero Cargo International and has several launch customers; Africa West Airlines, Air Senegal, Cargo B, Corsair, Cubana Airlines, Carpatair and Mexicana.
Guy Tordjman, President of ECS, said: “Germany is clearly one of the world’s most important air cargo markets and we have a large client base there of airlines that recognize the quality of service, business generation and value we offer. Establishing a second business in Germany reflects the approach we have taken in other major markets such as France and means we can provide the highest level of commitment and proactivity to carriers that have potentially overlapping route networks. Whilst benefiting from the corporate strength of ECS and our proven IT systems, Globe Air Cargo and Aero Cargo will compete for freight in the German market to achieve the best results for their respective airline customers.”
Nouri Tiedke has transferred from the Globe Air Cargo business in Frankfurt to assume the post of General Manager of Aero Cargo International, based in Mörfelden-Walldorf near Frankfurt Airport. Antonio Oliveira has been appointed Sales Manager Germany and Marion Schwandt, Manager Customer Service and Operations.
Aero Cargo International plans to open a further branch office in Munich in due course.
