RUSSIA's national airline, Aeroflot, has put in a bid to buy 91.5 per cent of Czech Airlines (CSA) from a Czech legal entity while promising to retain the carrier's base at Prague Ruzyne airport.
Aerflot's plan, outlined in the tender's preliminary guidelines, also include a promise to retain CSA as the Czech Republic's national air carrier.
Although the Russian flag airline is considered a favourite, it faces a competing bid from Air France-KLM, which is reported to be offering up to EUR200 million (US$274 million), according to Russian Transport Daily Report.
