In an effort combine strategies, Cargolux, Luxair Luxembourg Airlines and the Luxembourg Civil Aviation Authority held a flight safety conference last 10 March at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.
The agenda featured discussions around flight safety and accident prevention initiatives the Luxembourg aviation is facing at present and expects to meet in the near future.
During the one-day session, the 35 attendees from both companies and related institutions acquired in-depth insight into past, current and impending regulatory issues and safety concerns, whilst exchanging pro-active ideas for potential enhancements to the system. The presentations made by Cargolux and Luxair Luxembourg Airlines confirmed the pronounced flight safety awareness of both airlines.
The organizers were able to book three high ranking speakers for this conference, with presentations around varied aspects of flight safety made by Mr. Nick Sabatini, Mr. Edmond Boullay and Ms. Linda Tavlin.
Nick Sabatini recently retired from the FAA (US Federal Aviation Administration) as Associate Administrator for Aviation Safety. His responsibilities included certification, production approval and continued airworthiness of aircraft as well as certification of pilots, mechanics, and others in safety-related tasks.
