SINGAPORE Airlines Cargo has launched service to the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, Quito in Ecuador, and Bogota in Colombia from Brussels and Singapore.
The carrier commenced the service from February 7 under a special approval granted by the aviation authorities in these countries.
Singapore Airlines Cargo can play an important role in connecting the expanding Latin American market with other major markets in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. We want to assure our customers that it is our plan to make our presence here a permanent one and we will work very closely with relevant authorities with a view to secure the necessary approvals to serve the Latin American markets with scheduled freighter flights, said company vice president Tan Tiow Kor.
Freighter flight SQ7166 departs Saturdays from Brussels at 18:10 hrs and arrives in Sao Paulo the next day at 01:50 hrs. The flight departs Sao Paulo on Sunday at 04.20 hrs and arrives in Quito at 07.45.
The flight then departs from Quito at 10.15 hrs on Sunday and arrives in Bogota at 11:40 hrs. It later departs Bogota at 14.10 hrs and arrives in Brussels at 08.30 hrs on Monday, after a 1:10 hrs stopover in Bridgetown for a maintenance check.
Flight SQ7165 departs Brussels on Mondays at 11.30 hrs and arrives in Sharjah at 20:55 hrs, departing Sharjah at 22:05 hrs and arriving in Singapore at 09.15 hrs on Tuesdays.
