Lufthansa Cargo appoints new regional managers

The Lufthansa Cargo Executive Board has appointed six new regional managers.

Carsten Hernig is the new regional manager in India and the Middle East. Currently in charge of the Lufthansa Cargo station in Hong Kong, Carsten Hernig (33) is assuming his new position in New Delhi on 1 March 2008. He succeeds David Keary, who is entering retirement after acting as caretaker regional manager in Delhi. 

Carsten Hernig will be succeeded in Hong Kong on 1 March 2008 by Rudiger Helm (45) who was latterly Lufthansa Cargo regional manager for the Benelux countries, based in Amsterdam. Alexander Kohnen (30) is taking over in Amsterdam, with effect from 1 April 2008. He is presently Head of Sales Processes at Company Headquarters in Frankfurt. 

Lufthansa Cargo's new regional manager in the North East of the USA is Christian Haug, 39. He was previously Managing Director of Lufthansa Cargo's wholly-owned subsidiary handling counts GmbH. Christian Haug is to move to New York from his base in Frankfurt at the earliest possible date.  

A change is also in store in the United Arab Emirates. The present regional manager there, Gunnar Lohr (32), is returning to Frankfurt on 1 March 2008 to assume responsibility for quality assurance in worldwide handling.  He will be succeeded in Dubai, effective 1 March 2008, by Matthias Brazel (30), formerly assistant to Board Member Product and Sales, Dr. Andreas Otto. 

Marcus Burchard (35) is taking over in Madrid as new regional manager for Portugal and Spain, with effect from 1 July 2008. He succeeds Wolfgang Frey, who is going into retirement.
