NOVEMBER was the slowest month for US air freight since the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001 according to the Air Transport Association (ATA), with domestic traffic the lightest it's been since February 2003 and domestic cargo, the worst in 20 years, reported Washington DC's Traffic World.
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the drop for transpacific air trade fell 23.3 per cent in 2001, just shy of November 2008's slide of 23.8 per cent.
Domestic cargo fell 18.7 per cent, the steepest monthly decline since 9/11, with overall volume off 11.4 per cent from October to November, and domestic cargo tonnage dropping 12.6 per cent from October's, which had been a month of modest recovery.
