Allen takes over NCBFAA education department

The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America has named Cynthia Allen as education director.

   She will be responsible for marketing the association's certification programs and developing professional training courses.

   Allen, a licensed customs broker, was vice president of international customs and director of compliance for Argents Air Express, a freight forwarder based in Detroit. Allen has 20 years of import-export experience dealing with U.S.-Canada land trade, as well as ocean and air transport.

   She is an expert on the Automated Commercial Environment and will continue to serve on the Trade Support Network that is helping the government define requirements for the trade processing and communication system. She was also recently appointed chairman of the NCBFAA's Customs automation subcommittee.
