Vignettes for 2009

Dec 1, 2008 Logistics

Everything in Bulgaria is becoming more expensive, it seems. Well, the good news is that at least something is not going to change this time around – the vignette for your automobile, Sofia Echo reported. Prices of category 1, 2 and 3 vignettes will remain unchanged for 2009, the Road Infrastructure press centre announced, as quoted by the Bulgarian news agency BTA on November 27 2008.

In accordance with the conditions and order of tax collection for road infrastructure, for travelled distance, for use of certain facilities in the national highway infrastructure and for the special use of national roads or parts of them, the date of validity of the current vignettes is from January 1 until December 31 for the current annum.

The sale of vignettes will be done through branches of DZI and the post offices, as well as all the traffic control centres and police stations nationwide, plus in the branches or offices of the Road Infrastructure Agency.

Daily vignette stickers for private automobiles will not be sold in 2009, as European practice forbids their use. Truck drivers, however, can buy a daily vignette for 20 leva.

Cars and vans will pay 10 leva per week. A monthly vignette costs 25 leva and an annual vignette 67 leva. Truck drivers can buy a daily vignette for 20 leva. The price for a week is 110 leva, for a month 300 leva and for a year, 950 leva. Stickers for intercity buses cost 20 leva a day, 65 leva a week, 170 leva a month and 500 leva a year.
