Air China Cargo takes delivery of first TU-204 freighter

AIR China Cargo has taken delivery of first freighter made by Russian aircraft manufacturer Tupolev since such aircraft's withdrawal from the Chinese market eight years ago, Xinhua reported.

The TU-204 freighter will be deployed onto the lines from Tianjin to Hong Kong, Japan and Korea.

TU-204 freighter is the latest model developed by Tupolev with a maximum capacity of 27 tonnes and can fly as far as 3,000 kilometres.

Air China Cargo's Managing Director Li Xiaohu said delivery of the new aircraft has brought the number of the carrier's freighters to 9, the rest eight of which are Boeing 747 freighters.
