Descartes Systems Group said Wednesday it has launched a new Importer Security Filing 0+2 Readiness Program to help the firm's customers address pending U.S. filing regulations for imports.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based logistics software-as-a-service provider said the new program, available through its Global Logistics Network Customs Filing and Compliance suite, is designed to inform, educate and provide first-hand access to importers, customs brokers, carriers, freight forwarders, non-vessel operating common carriers and shippers to the Descartes ISF Services, according to a release issued Wednesday.
The new ISF program is offered in three different delivery options: Descartes ISF, ISF-Connect and ISF-PREMIER.
Descartes ISF enables customers to login via the Internet and enter the data required for an ISF filing. This service sends the data directly to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and provides a view of the filing status. Customers may receive status updates via EDI, or e-alerts can also notify customers of a problem with the filing.
Descartes ISF-Connect enables customers to gather the complete data set for the ISF filing in their own systems for submission to CBP. The service transmits the data for each ISF filing and provides a status of the filing via electronic message for posting in the customer抯 own system. Transmissions are made via Descartes GLN's secure connection to CBP.
Descartes ISF-PREMIER enables customers to collect the data needed for the ISF filing from multiple electronic document submissions or parties, including data sources such as a purchase order or ASN. Once the data is collected for the partial ISF filing, the customer can complete the remaining required fields and submit the filing to customs via the user interface as needed.
