Schneider Logistics expands forwarding operations

Nov 18, 2008 Logistics

Schneider Logistics has opened five new freight forwarding offices in the United States and Europe.

The offices in the United States include Chicago, Atlanta and New York, while the European offices are located in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

The company said about 70 percent of the freight handled in Rotterdam and Amsterdam is destined for, or originates from, other European countries including Eastern Europe. Schneider attributed its new U.S. East Coast and Midwest offices to shippers seeking to diversify their West Coast port options for points of delivery.

The new U.S. locations join a network that includes offices in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Miami. Schneider also has recently expanded its activities in China. In addition, the company operates more than 13 million square feet of transloading and warehousing space, and manages more than 300 draymen at the major U.S. ports.
