Travel ViaSingapore for some of the best airfares

Nov 14, 2008 Logistics

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has launched an online portal which offers some of the best airfares through Singapore.  These can be conveniently accessed at the new website called ViaSingapore.  ViaSingapore.com enables users to compare the best deals available for flights into and out of Singapore at one glance, including fares on both full service carriers and low cost carriers, as well as book the selected flights.  It also allows travellers to tap on Singapore Changi Airport's extensive connectivity to use Singapore as a starting point or a base to explore the Asia Pacific region.

"ViaSingapore is a convenient one-stop shop that offers travellers the best airfares to come to Singapore or to explore the Asia Pacific region from Singapore, by tapping on Singapore Changi Airport's extensive connectivity.  The introduction of this portal is part of CAAS' ongoing efforts to enhance Changi Airport's attractiveness as an air hub," said Mr Lim Kim Choon, Director-General and Chief Executive Officer, CAAS.

ViaSingapore hosts a search engine that combs more than 100 websites in real time to search for the best airfares on offer.  Results generated from searches include fares on both full service carriers and low cost carriers, with the lowest airfares featured upfront.  Through the portal, users can easily access the website offering the selected fares to make the flight bookings.  The portal is also able to recognise the location the users are logging in from, and automatically display the lowest fares from that location into and out of Singapore.

Special deals will be offered on ViaSingapore, exclusively available only on this portal.  To celebrate the launch of ViaSingapore, Jetstar Asia is offering an all-inclusive one-way airfare of S$901 to Bangkok.  Special deals for other Jetstar Asia destinations are also available on ViaSingapore.

Besides offering attractive airfares, users can find information on accommodation, tour packages and upcoming events on ViaSingapore.  There are also suggestions for stopovers in Singapore to encourage visitors to visit Singapore when they travel via Singapore.
