Kuehne + Nagel acquires French consolidator

The Kuehne + Nagel Group has entered into an agreement to acquire the French consolidator or groupage provider Alloin.

Kuehne + Nagel called it "one of the most important milestones in becoming a leading European overland transport company. After thorough market research and successful negotiations the integration of Alloin into Kuehne + Nagel's European groupage network represents a major step within the implementation of the group's overland business strategy.

Alloin is based in Villefranche-sur-Sae near the city of Lyon and has annual sales of 300 million euros and 3,000 employees. A family-owned company, it operates 53 cross-docking terminals across the country and handles 20,000 shipments per day.

The transaction is subject to the approval of EU authorities.
