Sonia's chance encounter with Mulayam at airport

LUCKNOW: Congress president Sonia Gandhi, on a two-day tour to her parliamentary constituency Raebareli, had a chance meeting with SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav at Amausi Airport, Lucknow, on Saturday.

Waiting in the VVIP lounge for the Delhi-bound flight, Sonia had a surprise guest as Mulayam walked in through the doors. Congressmen discreetly withdrew and the two leaders remained closeted for nearly 20 minutes.

In fact, senior leader Mohsina Kidwai, who unwittingly stepped into the room to greet Sonia, immediately came out.

Both leaders emerged only after boarding for the Delhi flight was announced. Partymen are speculating that the two leaders must have discussed possible seat-sharing between the two parties in Uttar Pradesh in the next Lok Sabha elections.
