YRC Worldwide Inc., the Overland Park, Kan.-based trucking and logistics holding company, has named Mike Kelley to the newly created position of chief sustainability officer to develop and see through the company's environmental targets.
Kelley, who was recently appointed by Kansas state Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to serve on the Kansas Energy and Environmental Policy Advisory Group, will combine his new role with his existing position as YRC's vice president of external affairs. He is also past chair and current member of the American Trucking Associations Environmental Policy Committee, Co-Chair of the ATA Sustainability Task Force, Chair of the ATA Image and Policy Committee.
YRC is a charter member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program.
