Changes to Russia train timetables

The timetables for the Sibelius and Repin trains, which run daily between St Petersburg and Helsinki, will change at the Finland Station (Finlyandsky vokzal) in St Petersburg as from 1 September 2008. From that date the trains will arrive in St Petersburg 10 minutes later than at present and will depart from St Petersburg 10 minutes earlier.

The changes mean that the trains will stop for 10 minutes longer at Vyborg station. This is to give more time for border formalities. The changes are in force for the time being.

The Sibelius train (P 35) will arrive in St Petersburg from the beginning of September at 14.15 local time. The train from St Petersburg to Helsinki (P 36) will depart at 16.34.

The Repin train (P 33) will arrive in St Petersburg at 22.51 local time. The train from St Petersburg to Helsinki (P 34) will depart at 07.17.

The departure and arrival times at Helsinki Central Station remain unchanged.


Cancellation of certain St Petersburg trains in October

Work on the track means that the Repin and Sibelius trains have been completely cancelled on three Tuesdays in October, on 14, 21 and 28 October. On these dates the trains will not run from Helsinki to St Petersburg or from St Petersburg to Helsinki. No alternative transport has been arranged, but passengers can travel to the Ladoga Station in St Petersburg on the Tolstoi train that goes to Moscow.


Changes to Moscow train timetables

The Tolstoi train (P 32) from Moscow to Helsinki will observe an exceptional timetable on three Mondays in October, on 13, 20 and 27 Ocotber. The train will depart earlier from Moscow, at 16.54, and arrive in Helsinki at 10.06. The journey will take about four hours longer. The timetable changes are due to work on the track.

The train from Helsinki to Moscow (P 31) will depart at the normal time while the track work is being carried out.
