According to Bloomberg, a Romanian transport company - Romtrans SA, is going to be acquired by Deutsche Bahn AG, Financial Times Deutschland said.
The purchase, would enable DB to expand in the rapidly growing eastern European market, Bloomberg reported, citing Financial Times Deutschland. It would cost between 80 and 100 m EUR.
In 2007, Romtrans reported sales of 78 m EUR and, currently, has a workforce of 1,300. The company isn't especially profitable FT Deutschland said, citing unidentified people familiar with the company.
