Con-way promotes Miller to policy chief

Aug 20, 2008 Logistics

Freight transport and logistics company Con-way Inc. has moved David L. Miller, a top executive at one of its subsidiaries, to the corporate level to be vice president of global policy and economic sustainability.

Miller has served as chief operating officer for Con-way Freight, the company's less-than-truckload operation, since 2007. He previously ran Con-way Southern Express and then Con-way Central Express, two of the regional LTLs since renamed under the Con-way Freight banner.

Miller will direct Con-way's government affairs, public policy and environmental initiatives at all levels of government. He has already been actively involved in such efforts, having testified before Congress and national commissions, and representing the company at the American Trucking Associations and other trade groups.
