Lushun New Port in Dalian, China is to add nine berths as part of a $355 million expansion project.

News reports Thursday said that a construction contract had been signed between the local authorities and sate-run First Harbour Engineer, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction.

First Harbour's stake in the expansion project currently stands at 51%.

When operational, the new facilities will include seven 200,000 deadweight tonne (dwt) multi-purpose cargo terminals and two 200,000 dwt ferry terminals along 4 kilometres of coastline.
