GAC opens Algeria ship agency

Dubai-headquartered GAC Group has established a ship agency in Algeria to take advantage of the booming oil and gas sector in Africa.

GAC Algeria, with its head office located in Algiers, provides ship agency services to all kinds of vessels calling at all the major Algerian ports including Annaba, Skikda, Jijel, Bejaia, Algiers, Mostaganem, Arzew-Betioua and Oran. While the business focuses on oil and gas export, the new agency will also handle activities such as the import of pipes in bulk vessels, car imports, bulk imports and exports, as well as liner business.s a company heavily involved in oil and gas, we cannot miss establishing a strong presence in Algeria where 1.5 million barrels of oil is produced on an average day. Algeria is the fourth-largest exporter of gas, said Erland Ebbersten, GAC's regional director for Europe, Mediterranean, Black Sea, Caspian Sea and Africa.
