Overland Park, Kan.-based YRC Worldwide has named Paul F. Liljegren as interim chief financial officer while it looks for a full-time replacement for Stephen L. Bruffett, who has left the company to become senior vice president and CFO at Con-way Inc.

Liljegren joined YRC in 2004 and will continue with his existing roles as vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer. YRC is the holding company for a portfolio of brands including Yellow Transportation, Roadway, Reimer Express, YRC Logistics, New Penn, USF Holland, USF Reddaway and USF Glen Moore. William D. Zollars, YRC's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said the company has started to identify and evaluate internal and external CFO candidates.

Bruffett was recruited into the YRC organization in 1998 as director of financial planning and analysis for the then-Yellow Freight unit. He was appointed as YRC's CFO last year. Meanwhile, Kevin C. Schick, whose role at Con-way Bruffett has taken over, has been given the new position of vice president, operational accounting by the San Mateo, Calif. headquartered firm.
