EPA to launch retail-specific sustainability portal

Aug 13, 2008 Logistics

The Retail Industry Leaders Association on Monday said the EPA will later this year launch a retail specific web portal that will streamline information gathering on environmental sustainability and compliance issues.

RILA said that it, along with other retail industry representatives, has been collaborating with the EPA over several months to create the portal.

Sustainability is a key issue and a top concern for RILA and our member companies, Casey Chroust, senior vice president for retail operations, said in a statement. This portal will serve as a clearing-house for information to further advance the industry's efforts to apply sustainable practices. The portal will centralize information regarding environmental compliance, sustainability and pollution prevention practices applicable to the retail sector. It will also provide access to all retail-related environmental compliance information within the EPA's website.
