New BDP office focuses on Indonesian oil, gas and mining industries

Aug 11, 2008 Logistics

BDP International, headquartered in Philadelphia, has opened a sixth office in Indonesia to support the oil, gas and mining industries.

The office is located in Balikpapan, Kalimantan, a seaport on the eastern coast of Borneo that also serves as a transit hub to Samarinda, Bontang and Palu on Sulawesi Island. Henky Indracahya heads the new office and reports to Aaron Chen, managing director of BDP Indonesia in Jakarta.

We sited this full-service office to meet the dedicated needs of the region's burgeoning oil, gas and mining industries, Chen said in a statement. Among the most specialized of these logistics support services are planning and executing the delivery of shipments and supplies to remote locations via rivers, inadequate roads, air charter and, in some cases, by helicopter. In addition to Jakarta and Balikpapan, BDP Indonesia also has branch offices in Surabaya, Semarang, Belawan, and Batam Island.
