To accommodate increasing volumes of wind turbine components, the Duluth News Tribune reported that Lake Superior Warehousing Co. in the port of Duluth, Minn. received approval from the Duluth Economic Development Authority on Aug. 4 to lease 12 acres of property next to its facilities.
The newspaper said that under the deal Lake Superior Warehousing would lease the space for $3,500 per month through November 2009.
The Great Lakes port has become a favorite among overseas wind turbine manufacturers in recent years as a delivery point for feeding large-scale wind farm projects in the Midwest.
