Delta sets up cargo team in France

Aug 1, 2008 Logistics

Delta will set up a team in Paris beginning Friday to head up cargo sales in France in preparation for the pending merger between Delta and Northwest Airlines to allay fears of disruption of a joint venture between Delta and Air France.

To ensure success of this challenge, Delta is investing considerably in Cargo operations, Delta Cargo Vice President Neel Shah wrote in a recent e-mail message to customers. In doing so, we are responding to our customer's demands for better accessibility to this network.

Olivier de Causans will be regional manager for Delta Cargo and will be assisted by a regional sales team.

We realize that in this certain transition period, rumors and speculation can circulate, Shah wrote. Let me address this directly with you: Delta Cargo is fully committed to the global objectives and strategies set forth between Delta Air Lines and Air France within the North Atlantic Joint Venture. I would like to personally thank you for your trust, loyalty and dedication to Delta Cargo as we go through these next stages of our transition.
