Jul 18, 2008 Logistics

Lufthansa Cargo said Wednesday it is increasing its freight capacities from Frankfurt to the Brazilian city of Curitiba.

Starting from Wednesday, the German carrier's existing flight to Curitiba on Saturdays, which commenced in October 2007, is to be augmented by an additional connection at 10:40 p.m. on Wednesdays. It will be operated using a Boeing 747-400 freighter by World Airways.

The freighter connections to Curitiba are run jointly by Lufthansa Cargo and its Lufthansa Cargo Charter subsidiary, which charters the air freight capacity. The Saturday flight from Frankfurt via Sao Paulo/Viracopos is marketed by Lufthansa Cargo, while Lufthansa Cargo Charter is responsible for the route from South America. The additional routing to Curitiba on Wednesdays is marketed entirely by Lufthansa Cargo.
