Zakarka appointed APHIS deputy administrator

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has appointed Christine Zakarka to deputy administrator of policy and program development.

In this role, she will be responsible for overall planning and direction on policies, programs and activities at APHIS. Zakarka will also oversee the agency's budget, regulation development and environmental compliance programs.
