Jun 6, 2008 Logistics

Kuwait-based logistics group Agility said Thursday it has signed a conditional agreement to acquire Cosa Freight, a Shenzhen-based ocean freight forwarder with offices in six locations in China and a presence in Hong Kong, the United States and Canada.

Cosa Freight has a particular strength on the transpacific trade and is very strong in providing a full range of services to the retail sector, including origin consolidation/upstream inventory management programs in China and warehousing, transloading, and delivery in the USA, Agility said in a statement.

Cosa Freight was established in 1998 and is a licensed freight forwarder and non-vessel-operating common carrier, providing local transportation throughout China, bonded warehousing, buyer consolidation services, international freight full-containerload/container freight station services, customs clearance, documentation, inspection and insurance brokerage. Cosa's value-added services include billing, cash collection and banking, kitting, packaging and repacking and reverse logistics.
