US fines Taiwan's EVA Airways US$13.2 million for air cargo price fixing

TAIWAN's EVA Airways has been fined US$13.2 million for air cargo price fixing for a period starting in January 2003 on flights to and from the United States, reported The Associated Press.


So far, the US Justice Department has accused a total of 22 companies in the air cargo industry that have engaged in such illegal activity. Besides, a total of $1.8 billion fines have been imposed with 21 senior executives in the industry being charged.
