Heart to Heart International, a global humanitarian organisation, in cooperation with FedEx Express yesterday delivered relief supplies valued at more than US$1.5 million to the earthquake devastated province of Sichuan.
It is the first major shipment of private aid from the US to the quake zone.
After departing from Kansas City International Airport at on Friday, the emergency airlift of critical pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, blankets and tarps landed at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at the weekend.
The vital supplies will support millions of people over the next two months.
In this time of great human need we are witnessing the very best of partnership, said Jeff DeGraffenreid, Heart to Heart International chief programmes officer.
This humanitarian aid delivery will make a significant impact in saving lives and easing suffering.
