Spot rates 15/4: Shanghai-LA, US$890/TEU - Shanghai-N Europe, $963/TEU

THE April 15 spot rate from Shanghai to the US west coast ports was US$890 per TEU, down 18 per cent from the week before, while the rate to north Europe was $963 per TEU, down 18 per cent from the week before, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index.


At the same time, the rate from Shanghai to New Zealand and Melbourne was $784 per TEU, up 51 per cent from the week before; to South Africa, it was $854 per TEU, down one per cent from the week before, and to Brazil, it was $1,098 per TEU, down three per cent from the week before.
