Average box revenues reported by Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) fell again the second month of the year. NOL reported an average revenue across all trades of $2,560 per feu for the period 11 February to 11 March compared to $2,654 per in the first period of 2011.
Average box revenues were also down 1% from $2,575 per feu in the same period in 2010. Volumes carried by the line for the period were 212,700 feu up 12% year-on-year. “The increase in volume was mainly due to higher volumes carried on the Intra-Asia and Asia-Europe trade lanes while the decline in average revenue per feu was due mainly to falling rates in the Asia-Europe trade lane,” NOL said.
