LLC Moby Dik container terminal (a Global Ports group company) finished handling the first container carrier of Unifeeder, one of the largest feeder network in the European container transportation market. Under its contract with LLC Moby Dik, Unifeeder will call at the terminal at least once a week.
Unifeeder's Ida Rambow originating in Hamburg (Germany) with a capacity of 1,008 TEU and deadweight of 11,600 tons, moored at the berths of LLC Moby Dik on 14 March. The vessel carried imported containers of Unifeeder and MSC. 667 TEU were unloaded, and 729 TEU were loaded on board. The vessel was handled as scheduled.
According to the General Director of LLC Moby Dik Valery Mestulov, cooperation with Unifeeder will allow to more efficiently use the capacity of the terminal due to increased volume of container handling. Unifeeder has become the second customer of the terminal after the Finnish Containerships which will continue to account for most of the terminal's cargo flow.
The current capacity of Moby Dik allows to handle up to 400,000 TEU. The container yard of the terminal has reefer stands where up to 504 reefer containers may be simultaneously connected.
Moby Dik has two cargo berths capable of berthing container carriers and Ro-Ro vessels with a side and a stern ramp. The total length of berths is 322 m. The container terminal has a state-of-the-art information system with a time slot booking feature.
