Somali pirates have released a hijacked bulker operated by NYK Hinode. EU Navfor said the Izumi was released on 25 February after being hijacked on 10 October. “The Panama-flagged vessel and her Filipino crew of 20 are believed to be making for a safe port. There is no information on the condition of the vessel or the crew,”EU Navfor said.
The naval coalition also reported another Panama-flagged bulker Dover was hijacked in the North Arabian Sea on Monday. The vessel has crew of 19 Filipinos, three Romanians and one Russian. “There is presently no communication with the vessel and no information regarding the condition of the crew,” EU Navfor said.
