Logwin expands fashion logistics facilities in Vietnam

Mar 1, 2011 Logistics

TO meet growing demand from garment and shoes manufacturers for freight and logistics services across Vietnam, Logwin has expanded facilities in the country.

Its warehouse and consolidation centre in Hanoi was extended to 2,000 square metres from 1,000 square metres, and the company has also doubled capacity to 2,000 square metres at its container freight station (CFS) operations in Haiphong.

In 2011, the company's branch in Ho Chi Minh City plans to move into an enlarged warehouse/CFS facility which will double storage capacity to 1,000 pallet positions.

"We see many opportunities to develop our fashion logistics business in Vietnam as our global brand named clients are increasing the volume and range of garments they source from the country," said Maik Juengst, the company's country director.

The services provided at its Vietnam facilities include storage, sorting, price tagging, export consolidation, sample taking, and quality inspections.

The logistics services provider said it handled nearly 75,000 cubic metres of garments and shoes at its warehouses in Vietnam during 2010, and is currently forecasting a further increase in its import and export business this year.
